I think that now that its provenance is established it is more a 'repro' than a shooter. I would say, as an unenlightened accumulator, that it would be between a mixed-parts Navy 'shooter' and a legitimate Navy.

Many years ago at the Tennessee Gun Collectors show, I purchased a pre war Hi Power from Ralph. A high price but not outrageous. It had an interesting marking on the grip. For years I and a couple others could not figure out what the marking represented. So was it legit or a fake?
About 10 years ago, I noticed the same marking on a bayonet. So I purchased a book that dealt with German bayonets. It turned out the marking was for the Luftwaffe Schule. Apparently some K98ks and pistols, including Hi Powers were issued to the Luftwaffe guards. So far, only 2 are known - mine and one in Denmark. Ralph had a tendency to come up with unusual things.

I've had business dealings with hayhugh, no problems. I've only had email question & answers with Norme, but he seemed sincere.
